This course is suitable for everyone and has been specifically designed to help organisations, employers ans service providers to provide a positive mental health culture within their own environment or workplace.
We will provide learners with comprehensive knowledge on a range of the most common mental health conditions and the skills to be able to act should a condition be suspected.
Learners undertaking this course will then be considered First Aiders for Mental Health and be a point of contact within the organisation or workplace to help and support those with a suspected mental health condition.
Building on the Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health this course introduces the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan which allows learners to provide others with comprehensive guidance and support for a suspected mental health condition. Learners will be able to provide signposting to professional help and support that person whilst they are receiving professional assistance if this is felt to be appropriate.
This course also covers the effects of drugs and alcohol and provides learners with the skills and knowledge to assist organisations, employers or service providers in implementing a positive mental health culture to support others.

The qualification is assessed through both a practical demonstration of the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan and a multiple-choice question paper. A Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment.
Who Should Attend?
Anyone including employers, employees, business owners, managers, HR staff, teachers, tutors, group leaders, designated persons for child and/or adult protection, and those wanting to increase their confidence and knowledge in mental health first aid to those who have some knowledge and want to formalise this with a recognised qualification.
Please note, learners must be a minimum age of 14 to qualify.
